I felt like this album ue a7x trying to find they're identity without the rev. Its a contradicting thought everyone will experience at least once if not multiple times in their life. Yea, pretty much the whole album was written instrumentally speaking before The Rev's death.

The song is saying that its a total nightmare because jimmy "the rev" was found dead and everything was a nightmare for them.

Yes, they did write the songs before Jimmy died, they did change a lot of the lyrics on the songs though, What I heard is they changed all the lyrics on the CD, except two songs[Nightmare and Fiction] They didn't change Nightmares lyrics because Jimmy loved the lyrics so much, after he died they wanted the album to be Jimmy pretty much, so Shadows felt like he shouldn't have Fiction is an obvious reason why they didn't change the lyrics. The band caught my attention in a major way after they made the "Nightmare" album approx.

This is probably my favorite of their post WtF stuff, just cause it brings back the truly heavy style. However, I will acknowledge that I think it IS a ua of introspective look at the nature of a relationship, or lack thereof, with God, in general.
